U14 girls win Hampshire Cup and are League Champions!

In a record breaking season our girls have taken home the Hampshire Cup and the League title and are so far unbeaten. The cup final was played on one of the hottest days of the year and was a closely contested game against Salisbury in which Winchester surrendered a 2-0 lead for the score to be level at 2-2 in full time. The game was decided on penalty flicks, with Winchester stepping up to win emphatically 3-0 with three great saves by Lili & three nerveless penalties.

It has been a remarkable season so far for the girls. They have also won the Hampshire Under 14 Division 1 League by 6 points winning all 7 of their matches and overall this season have won all of their 13 games so far scoring 54 goals and conceding 7.

They have one game left to play and that is the England Hockey Cup final next Sunday. The girls who played in the final were: Alice A, Olivia B, Mimi , Lili, Mia C, Zippy, Amalee, Bea, Ruby L, Amelia, Lucia, Charlie W and Honor W. Mia W missed the final because of injury.

Other girls who did not play but who have played for the Winchester Team twice or more during the season were: Sophie D, Roberta, Abi, Kitty, Ruby S and Grace.

Well done all the girls!
